Licensed for civil marriages, civil partnerships, humanist and spiritual ceremonies, The Church offers couples the opportunity to host their ceremony in a beautifully restored setting beneath the original stained-glass windows. For those choosing to marry elsewhere, The Church also provides a distinctive venue for wedding receptions and celebrations.

The Church Stepped Up When We Needed Them Most

“We were married in June 2021 in the middle of the pandemic and with ever changing COVID restrictions.

Two weeks before our wedding, our venue was cancelled (private marquee) and living abroad in Luxembourg meant trying to find a last minute venue looked hopeless.

The Church not only stepped up with only 2 weeks notice, they planned the day: food, cocktails, reception drinks and canapés, layout and decoration, with no complaints and with calmness. The church was immaculately presented, the food was fabulous (we had steak) and it was a wonderful day.

I can’t say enough about their professionalism, kindness, patience, pro-activeness and accommodation on the day and in the 2 weeks before. You really saved us.

I have to say a special thanks to the staff and management whose service and delivery was nothing short of excellent. There wasn’t an empty glass or hungry person all day and night – I particularly recommend the lemon drop cocktails!”

From the exposed brick and stained glass windows to the quaint ceiling beams adorned with romantic twinkling lights and textured foliage, this beautiful historical old church has all the character mixed with a modern twist, and is set in the beautiful little village of Rostrevor, where we stepped across the road to the Fairy Glen for our forest photographs.

My husband and I had our dream wedding in the church in September 2018 and it really was an absolute fairytale. The warm and friendly staff felt like family and they went above and beyond in every way. Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum and maximum number of guests The Church can accommodate?

Our wedding packages are designed for a minimum of 50 guests. For a fully seated wedding breakfast, The Church can accommodate up to 70 guests.

Where can our guests stay?

There are a variety of high-quality guesthouses within walking distance of The Church, along with country houses, holiday homes and Airbnb accommodation throughout the local area. Additional hotel options are available in nearby Newry, just a 20-minute drive away. We can also assist with arranging local taxis or coach transport if required.

Can we personalise our wedding package?

Yes. Our packages are flexible, allowing you to tailor your day to suit your plans. Your wedding coordinator will guide you through the available options and any upgrades.

Is wine included in the wedding packages?

Yes. Both red and white wine are included in all wedding packages. During your menu tasting, you’ll have the opportunity to sample the wines and discuss upgrade options if you wish.

Can we bring our own wine?

Yes. While we offer an extensive wine list at competitive prices, you’re welcome to provide your own wine if you have something special in mind. A corkage fee of £10 per bottle applies.

Are there any additional costs?

If you choose to hold your ceremony at The Church, an additional £500 ceremony fee applies. Any optional upgrades or bespoke additions will be priced separately, but if you’re happy with your chosen package, there are no hidden extras.

Are there other ceremony venues nearby?

Yes. There are several churches and multi-denominational ceremony venues within a short drive of The Church, including Rostrevor Church within walking distance. Your wedding coordinator can provide recommendations to suit your preferences.

What happens between the ceremony and the reception?

Following your ceremony, guests can enjoy drinks and canapés on the covered terrace while you take photographs around The Church and the surrounding area. During this time, our team transforms the venue from the ceremony layout to the reception setting, which typically takes between 90 minutes and 2 hours.

What time should our ceremony begin?

We’re flexible and happy to help you plan a timeline that suits your day. As a guide, 2:00 pm is our most popular ceremony time, allowing plenty of time to enjoy your drinks reception, photographs and evening celebration.

Can we choose our floral arrangements?

Yes. We work closely with local florist Flower Burrow, who can help you create arrangements that complement your chosen style, colours and theme.

Do we need to style the venue ourselves?

No. Our wedding coordination team will carefully style the venue using the décor you provide, ensuring everything is in place before your guests arrive.

Can we bring a wedding cake, sweet cart or doughnut wall?

Absolutely. You’re welcome to include additional personal touches such as a wedding cake, sweet cart or doughnut wall within your drinks reception or evening celebration.

Can you cater for dietary requirements?

Yes. We regularly cater for guests with dietary requirements, allergies and special dietary preferences. We’ll also adapt menus where needed to ensure every guest is well looked after.

Where is the dance floor?

Once dinner has finished, the centre tables are carefully removed to create a spacious dance floor while the remaining tables stay in place, providing comfortable seating for your guests throughout the evening.

Is there an outdoor area for guests?

Yes. Our covered and heated terrace provides a comfortable outdoor space where guests can relax, mingle or smoke throughout the day and evening.

What time does the bar close?

Last orders are served at 11:30 pm.

When will we have our menu tasting?

Menu tastings usually take place six to eight weeks before your wedding. To allow our kitchen team to provide the best experience, tastings are generally held midweek or during late afternoon on Fridays or Saturdays where possible.

When should we drop off our decorations?

We recommend delivering your décor the evening before your wedding, allowing our team plenty of time to prepare the venue.

Is there parking available?

While The Church does not have onsite parking, there is convenient on-street parking available nearby for you and your guests.
